Team Illinois defeats Minnesota to win Cadet Greco Roman Duals

KANSAS CITY, MO. - Team Illinois used a dominating performance in their middle and heavy weights to turn a tight dual match into a rout, to win the team title at the 2007 USA Wrestling Cadet National Team Duals in Greco-Roman, presented by People to People. Team Illinois is your National Champs and Team Minnesota is your runner-up, by a 46-27 finals score.
Minnesota jumped to an early lead but the Big Train from Illinois was starting to roll. At 130-pounds, Illinois tied the dual, capitalizing on Josh Castellano’s fall over John Omann. At 140, Tyler Miller pinned Jarrett Hoeppner to keep Illinois on track.

Pinnacle Performance School of Wrestling has made an impact in northern Illinois in its inaugural year. Located in St. Charles Pinnacle is one more of a number of growing training centers for wrestlers in this talent rich area of the State. Wrestling is highly competitive in northern Illinois and getting better around the State. For kid wrestlers and high school wrestlers, the difference between success and falling short is almost directly proportional to the amount of time spent “on the mat”. Training opportunities like Pinnacle can be crucial in the development of a successful wrestler.

Post-Season training is for the serious youth wrestler focusing on Freestyle & Greco. The Post-Season session will develop the skills necessary to compete at Illinois State & National Freestyle & Greco tournaments.

Pre-Season
Pre-Season training focuses on preparing the wrestlers for the up coming Folkstyle season. Folkstyle technique and conditioning are the focus of this session, with the goal of advancing each wrestler to the state IKWF tournament.
Cost $350 or $175/mo. for (2) months.

Pinnacle Performance is proud to announce that Oak Park River Forest Head Wrestling Coach, Mike Powell will be joining the Pinnacle coaching staff for the upcoming Spring wrestling season and will be assisting with Sunday morning practices during that time. The Pinnacle coaching staff and their wrestlers are very excited about his involvement and know his coaching contribution will help everyone in the wrestling room. Mike Powell is an AA Illinois State Champion, an NCAA All-American, is currently the Head Wrestling Coach for the Illinois National Junior Greco Duel Team, and has twice been nominated for Illinois Wrestling Coach of the Year.

Pinnacle opens a
second location in Barrington!

Starting March 18th, 2008 Pinnacle Performance will begin training high school wrestlers at their new second location at Barrington High School. This new location will better enable us to accommodate those wrestlers living further North and Northeast in the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
